The Village of Blackville is situated along the banks of the beautiful Main Southwest Miramichi River, where the Bartholomew
River flows into the main river. It is approximately 40 kilometres southwest of the city of Miramichi.
Incorporated
as a village in 1967, it has a population of 931 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing. Blackville
is considered the "Salmon Fishing Capital of the Miramichi".
