Blackville Minor Baseball honoured the memory of Thomas Dunn by retiring his jersey number from their program last weekend.

The honour took place during the opening ceremonies of the First Annual Thomas Dunn Memorial Slow Pitch Tournament. The tournament was held at Centennial Field in Blackville from June 27-29.

Family and friends of Thomas Dunn joined Hon. Jake Stewart, MLA for Southwest Miramichi/Bay du Vin on the field to officially retire #9 from the minor baseball program.

Stewart, who is also a coach, told the crowd that “We do this to honour Thomas Dunn for the value he brought as a teammate and on the field, and also for the everlasting positive impression he made on all of the youth and coaches who played or volunteered in our program”.
