Celebrate Canada Day Weekend in Blackville!

Join us as we celebrate our heritage over the Canada Day weekend. We have a full two days of events and fun activities for the entire family.

On Saturday, June 30, Saint Andrews UCW will be hosting a breakfast at the United Church Centre from 7:00am until 11:00am. Menu includes eggs, bacon, toast, hashbrowns, coffee/tea and juice. $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 and under.

From 1:00pm until 3:00pm, G.W.’s Truck Show & Shine will be held at the Blackville High School. A bbq and refreshments will be available. From 4:00pm until 11:00pm, activities will be held at the park including face painting, kids activities and games, Woodsmen Competition (kettle boil, log split, axe throwing, wheelbarrow competition), Fly Casting Competition, Canoe Races, Merchandise Bingo, and Entertainment by Nowhere Road and Ladies of the River. Fireworks will be held at dusk. BBQ will be available. See full schedule below.

On Sunday, July 1, a gospel concert will be held at New Life UPC at 10:00am (free will offering). Saint Raphael’s CWL will host a Strawberry Social from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall. Cost is $5 and includes strawberry shortcake and tea.  The parade kicks off at 3:00pm, followed by activities, entertainment, cake and a bbq at the park from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Please note: on Saturday, there will be limited parking at the municipal park. The rear parking lot will be closed for activities. On Sunday, no vehicles are permitted inside the park (with exception of floats / parade participants). ATV trail gates will be closed during activities on both days.

Saturday June 30

BREAKFAST • 7am – 11am

LOCATION: Blackville High School

$25 entry fee for trucks.

MUNICIPAL PARK ACTIVITIES

FACE PAINTING & KIDS ACTIVITIES • 4pm – 6pm
FREE races, games and more. Face painting is $5.

WOODSMEN COMPETITION • 4pm – 8pm
Please note: no professionals please. Amateurs only.
Activities include: Kettle Boil, Log Split, Axe Throwing, Wheelbarrow Competition, Fly Casting Competition, Canoe Races. $5 per activity. Cash prizes to be won.

MERCHANDISE BINGO • 6pm
FREE to play. Located at the park pavillion.

ENTERTAINMENT • 8pm – 11pm

Sunday, July 1

MATT LINTON GOSPEL CONCERT • 10am
LOCATION: New Life UPC
Family fun and BBQ to follow concert. Free will offering.

STRAWBERRY SOCIAL • 12pm – 2pm
LOCATION: Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall
Strawberry shortcake & tea. Cost is $5

CANADA DAY PARADE • 3:30pm
Line-up begins at Hooked ‘N Cooked at 2:30pm.

MUNICIPAL PARK ACTIVITIES

KIDS ACTIVITIES • 4pm – 6pm
Jumping castle, games and cotton candy.

ENTERTAINMENT • 4pm – 6pm
Local entertainment (karaoke)
