Rec Council Presents Cheque to Aaron Dunn for The North Baseball Experience

Blackville Recreation Council President and Deputy Mayor Ian Fortune presented a $2,175 cheque to Aaron Dunn on Friday, May 4, towards Aaron’s upcoming trip as part of The North Baseball Experience. Since late March, tickets were on sale at local establishments in the community on a basket of gift cards valued at over $750.  The gift cards were donated by businesses, groups and individuals. The winner of the basket was Daphne Jardine.

The cheque was presented to Aaron at Blackville Foodland. On hand for the presentation were Aaron’s parents Harry and Dawn Dunn, Grace Coughlan of Blackville Foodland, and Ian Fortune.

Thank you to the community for their support, the people who purchased tickets and those who donated the gift cards.

Aaron will travel to Germany, Austria and Switzerland from May 11 to 23.  He was selected to play on the North American Collegiate Baseball Team as part of “The North Baseball” experience.

The North is a baseball program that brings student-athletes from across North America together for a baseball and cultural opportunity of a lifetime.  Each baseball journey is unique – the team will explore what Europe has to offer while competing against some of Europe’s top baseball talent.
